We’re having a fantastic time at the NEC Sewing for Pleasure show! It’s been wonderful meeting so many lovely people and sharing time stitching together in our workshops and at the Make & Take table.

So many beautiful embroidered cards have been created, and we’ve loved chatting with visitors from all over the country — and even from France!

Over the past 6 weeks I have had the pleasure of teaching mindful stitching to group @the_rec_bedford on a Monday afternoon. We have used seasonal inspiration to create fabric books filled with applique and slow stitching.

Things I have learnt from the ladies of Bedford:

1. Creativity grows in community. Stitching together shows how ideas spark and evolve when people share techniques, stories, and encouragement.

2. Slow making creates space to breathe. Sitting with needle and thread alongside others is a reminder that taking time to make something by hand can be calming, grounding, and restorative.

3. Everyone brings something unique. Each person’s colours, stitches, and approaches reflect their own personality, and seeing that variety is inspiring and affirming.

Most importantly- stitching together is FUN!

I have just finished putting together the last page of my Autumn Stitch Journal 🍂

This has been a 10 week project taught at @letchworthsettlement with a fabulous group of stitchers.

We will be continuing to slow stitch the seasons in January and there are a couple of spaces still available. It's such a lovely way to pause, reflect, learn something new and meet other crafters.

What a fantastic time I had teaching at the Knit + Stitch Show at Alexandra Palace! It was such a joy to meet so many enthusiastic makers, see your creativity in action, and share my love of crafting.

There was some fantastic feedback so thank you to everyone who came along and those of you who left me a review card — you made it such a special few days.
